Sliabh Beagh is a landscape of gentle rolling hills.  According to mythology the area is named after “Bith” a survivor of the biblical flood and son of Noah depicted in this beautiful sculpture.   However it is more likely that the name is based on the gaelic name for a birch tree “crann beithe”

Sliabh Beagh is an internationally important wildlife area. The iconic species are the Red Grouse, Hen Harrier and Curlew make their home on the gentle rolling hills between Co Tyrone, Monaghan and Fermanagh.     

This is Lough More located exactly on the border between N. Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and illustrates the rolling hills of bog, forests and small fields that make up the beautiful Sliabh Beagh landscape.
